Health Care Design Elective:
Designing Desirable Health Care Delivery Systems
The Gesundheit! Institute invites you to join us for a one month program
of designing — of thinking outside the box
of the current
health care system. This elective focuses on the questions What health
care delivery system do I want?
and How do I begin to design and
implement that?
The program specifically addresses health care students who feel the current
health care system is undesirable and unsustainable, and who want time, tools,
and community to figure out what next?
Spend a month in a beautiful Appalachian valley in rural West Virginia visiting area residents, studying a health care delivery system of another country, learning the language of systems, and designing a health care delivery system based on what YOU WANT!
On-site housing, food, reading materials, Internet access, and instruction and guidance by a board-certified internist are all provided at no charge. Students will immerse themselves in the WV Gesundheit! community activities — i.e., cooking, cleaning, gardening, clowning, having fun! — as part of the elective.
As of November 2007, the status of this project is uncertain -- read about other wonderful Gesundheit project and check back with us later.
