Meet the Architect: Dave Sellers

Architect Dave Sellers has worked with Gesundheit for 25 years, designing the structures on its land and GI clinics built in El Salvador and Peru.

Gesundheit’s Dacha building, which houses staff, received an American Institute of Architects Design Excellence Award and was published on the back cover of “Fine Homebuilding Magazine.” The Gesundheit Master plan and Preliminary designs for the Hospital were published in “Perspecta Magazine” the Yale University annual Architectural Review. Sellers was named as one of the 100 foremost architects in the world by “Architectural Digest”.

Sellers work focuses on designing and building with nature, with special emphasis on custom craftsmanship. His work in town and community planning has received national recognition for pedestrian and human-scaled settlement patterns.

Sellers has created up preliminary drawings of the Teaching Center and Clinic. The architecture is designed to be “organic, playful, mischievous, and thoughtful,” Sellers explains.

Sellers teaches at Yestermorrow Design/Build School which helped build Gesundheit’s Dacha & Chrysalis buildings and plans to contribute volunteer labor to the future Teaching Center and Clinic.
